Managing Partner, MAK Capital Investment Management

Monica Midler
When she’s not growing tomatoes or sculling at dawn with her row club, Monica is the managing partner of MAK Capital, a financial service company with over three decades of investing history.

Monica started her career 30 years ago as an equity analyst for Fidelity Investments, working internationally in London and Boston. She joined Credit Suisse First Boston’s mergers and acquisition department in New York before moving to San Francisco to help launch their asset management division.

Volunteering is a rewarding part of Monica’s life.  She has served non-profit organizations at every level, from developing strategic plans for her Oxford University College, to guiding refugees through California’s transit system. Consequently, she has sat on board seats and bus seats. She believes her value as a philanthropist is enhanced by experiencing challenges at their source. This philosophy has guided her work in immigration assimilation, agriculture, and education, where she has supported individuals and institutions – whether starting a Kinder Camp that served 150 at-need early learning students or supporting the International Rescue Committee’s women’s resilience group, projects grew from small and immersive beginnings.

Monica holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Oxford University, where she is now a Foundation Fellow at her College.  She is married with three children who are studying the life sciences at universities across the US.
