Former Research Director and Hi-Tech General Manager
Menlo Park, CA
Martha Deevy, is a firm believer in – and a prime example of – the idea that living longer lives affords us a chance to reinvent ourselves many times over – she already has several chapters under her belt. With a long career in tech and financial services, followed by a happy stint as a stay-at-home Mom, Martha most recently worked in academia trying to bridge the worlds of academic research, business and policy.
Most recently, Martha was the Director and a Senior Research Scholar at the Stanford Center on Longevity, where she helped develop and launch the “New Map of Life” initiative which is a roadmap that re-envisions the social and cultural norms of living 100-year lives. Her own research interest has focused on maintaining financial security throughout increasingly long and complex lives.
Prior to joining Stanford, Martha had a long career with Silicon Valley firms. She held positions in business development, strategic planning, finance, product development and IT and held senior executive positions at Apple, Charles Schwab and Intuit. She has served on the boards of directors of a number of publicly traded and non-profit organizations. She received an MBA in Finance and Management Information Systems from University of Minnesota and a BA in Economics from University of Illinois.
Martha, a long-time resident of nearby Menlo Park, is the proud mother of a young adult son and she continues to be baffled by his decision to live in Minneapolis (wonderful city, but the winter weather is another story).
