Brian Ring
Dr. Brian Ring received his PhD in molecular biology and genetics from Cornell University and completed his post-doctoral training at Stanford University School of Medicine. He has spent his career exploring how our genes shape human health and wellbeing, and how scientific innovation can enable longer, healthier, and more meaningful lives.

Brian’s career spans academia and industry across the United States and Asia. He has been the Chief Scientific Officer, Chief Data Officer, and co-founder of multiple companies in Silicon Valley, with projects including the development of cancer diagnostics, disease risk models, and therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s. He was Professor and Director of the Institute for Personalized Medicine at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China, and contributed to the international efforts to define mammalian transcriptome with the RIKEN Institute in Japan. He is currently collaborating with the Stanford University School of Medicine on applications of AI and genomics to aging and precision health. 

Brian is also the author of both fiction and non-fiction books exploring the intersection of genetics, identity, and society. He is deeply committed to bridging science with broader humanistic, cultural, and philosophical perspectives. Through writing, teaching, and public engagement, he seeks to foster dialogue across disciplines and generations, advancing a more integrated vision of science in service of humanity.
