Christine Zhou is the former Senior Vice President and President of Region China at Novo Nordisk, where she led the company’s second largest and strategically important market. During her more than 30-year career in healthcare, including 20 years with Eli Lilly and Company and 8 years with Novo Nordisk, she held leadership roles spanning commercial operations, strategy, global late-stage drug development, organizational transformation, and ecosystem development across China, the United States, and Southeast Asia.
A physician turned global healthcare executive, Christine combines deep understanding of patient needs with extensive leadership experience across multinational healthcare organizations. She has worked closely with governments, healthcare institutions, industry partners, and innovation ecosystems to advance access to healthcare and improve health outcomes at scale. During her eight years of leadership, Novo Nordisk China achieved significant business growth, expanded its end-to-end value chain presence, and further strengthened its position as one of the leading healthcare companies in China.
Christine is a Member of the Institute of Directors (UK) and has served on multiple corporate and industry association boards. She earned her medical degree from Shanghai Medical University and completed executive education programs at Harvard Business School and Columbia Business School.
In her current chapter, Christine is focused on board service, strategic advisory, healthcare innovation, and fostering collaboration across global healthcare ecosystems. She remains passionate about helping organizations capture opportunities, navigate change, create long-term value, and improve lives through healthcare innovation. She is also deeply committed to lifelong learning and building bridges between China and global healthcare ecosystems.
