Anupam Mishra most recently served as Chief People Officer for Aspire Public Schools, a network of 36 college preparatory charter schools serving 15,000+ scholars. During his time there, he helped redesign teacher compensation for 800+ educators, worked to diversify all ranks of the organization, and co-constructed Aspire’s core values through an 18-month Liberatory Design process – an experience that was as meaningful as it was ambitious
Prior to Aspire, Anupam spent most of his career as a Partner at Hellman & Friedman, one of the world’s leading private equity firms, investing in software and education technology companies. While investing was exciting, his favorite part of the job by far was supporting executives, mentoring young investors, and building effective, connected teams.
Outside of his day jobs, Anupam enjoys staying close to education and community. He currently serves as a board director or advisor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Lick-Wilmerding High School, and Challenge Success, and teaches personal finance workshops to high school students across the Bay Area.
Anupam holds an AB and MBA from Harvard University and is a Fellow of the Broad Academy. He’s been married to his college sweetheart Kavita, a professor and physician at UCSF, for 25+ years, and together they’ve raised two sons.
