Former Consultant; Coach, ScholarMatch
Chicago, IL

Lori von Kapff spent most of her career serving clients with Egon Zehnder, McKinsey & Company, and Deloitte. She is the proud mother of two college students attending Villanova and UChicago. She has volunteered and served on the boards of a range of organizations with an emphasis on public education. She currently coaches high-potential, low-income students through ScholarMatch.

She grew up in Southern California, and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a major in accounting. She began her career as an auditor at Deloitte. Despite actually enjoying audits, Lori left Deloitte to attend Harvard Business School.

After Harvard, Lori joined McKinsey in the Los Angeles office, where she served mostly retail and consumer clients. She spent half her tenure at McKinsey in the London and Seoul offices, where she learned how horrifically bad she was at karaoke. But the very best part of her McKinsey years was meeting her future spouse, Marcus.

Lori’s next career stop was to join a new management team during the Guess? IPO. A career opportunity for Marcus triggered a move to Chicago for “no longer than two years.” Now over two decades later they still live in the “Windy City.” Lori joined Egon Zehnder’s Chicago office where she once again enjoyed working in a collegial environment serving diverse clients.

Lori left Egon Zehnder to focus on family. She is immensely proud of the two hard-working and kind adults she has raised. In her spare time, Lori loves planning family travels, playing tennis and hosting social gatherings.
