Alok Bhalla has over 30 years of experience in global financial markets, and currently operates as a consultant, private investor, and board member.

Alok’s banking career involved several roles across different geographies and institutions and included working with Citigroup, Credit Suisse and lastly Deutsche Bank, where he ran the Emerging Markets Structured Debt Trading business. Alok specialised in fixed income debt and derivatives, and his experience and expertise span private credit, credit and hybrid derivatives, securitisation, special situations, non-performing loans, and distressed credit across markets in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

As a consultant, Alok helps growth companies raise debt and improve their capital structure. He is also active as a board member/ private investor and mentors the management teams of a few companies he has funded.

In addition, Alok serves on the board of the Sanctuary Group, a charitable organisation that is the fourth largest Housing Association in the U.K. Sanctuary focuses on providing affordable social housing for some of the poorest people in society, operating care homes for the infirm and elderly, providing supported living facilities to deliver personalised care and support to a range of vulnerable people in addition to operating a portfolio of student housing facilities and developing affordable homes.

He holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Delhi and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Alok lives in London with his wife and has two amazing daughters. He enjoys reading, ashtanga yoga and Italian wine.
