Storyteller, Teacher, Advisor, Traveler
San Francisco and Santa Cruz, CA
Mark Adams believes in the power of a well-told tale to inspire people and drive social change. He’s been telling stories his whole life – across his corporate career at Equinix where he led Corporate Strategy and M&A, establishing them as the leader in the Global Data Center industry, through McKinsey and three different start-ups. He even founded a venture capital fund for direct investment in Indonesia . . .now that was a story!
Recently, he’s taken his storytelling to new venues … performing a one-man show at the Marsh Theater in San Francisco and as a lecturer at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business where he teaches Technology Mergers & Acquisitions.
Mark’s current passion is Artificial Intelligence and Data Centers. He’s a Senior Advisor to Blackrock in their Digital Infrastructure Group and on the board of three data center companies, in the US, Nigeria and Thailand. He’s also on the board of 10,000 Degrees, a non-profit focused on providing college access to underprivileged kids in the Bay Area.
Mark loves to travel and has lived in six countries in Europe and Asia – his goal is to visit 100 countries. He received his BA from Cornell University and an MBA from the Wharton School. He currently resides in Santa Cruz and San Francisco with his wife Marilee and dog Bella, while trying to keep tabs on his three adult children.
