Community Volunteer Leader
Naples, FL and Chicago, IL

Marion JacobsonMarian Jacobson grew up in Oklahoma City, OK and holds a BA (’83) in international relations from Stanford and an MBA (’88) from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

Marian’s 15-year career spanned commercial banking for the First National Bank of Chicago, planned community real estate development for Westinghouse Communities Inc in Naples, FL and brand management for the Quaker Oats Company.

In 1998, she took a leave from the paid workforce to focus on raising her three young daughters, but life took another turn in 2000 when her husband Jeff’s career moved the family to London. What was expected to be a 3-year assignment turned into a 12-year, life-changing experience which included two years living in Singapore.

While living abroad, Marian discovered the joy and fulfilment of community building, volunteer management, and non-profit board participation which has led to a variety of leadership roles over the past 25 years with organizations such as TASIS England international school, International Women of Berkshire & Surrey, International Women Associates Chicago, Know Your Chicago civic engagement, XS Tennis & Education Foundation, and Pelican Bay Planned Community Strategic Planning. Marian is also a former President of the Stanford Alumni Club of Chicago and currently serves on the Bing Overseas Study Program Advisory Council.

When not in committee meetings, Marian is an avid tennis and pickleball player, enjoys singing in a women’s chorus, and has a goal of visiting a new country at least every other year.
