Ernesto Leme, former Managing Director responsible for Principal Asset Management in Brazil, has built a distinguished career in the financial industry, working across global financial hubs such as New York, London, Zurich, Geneva, and his hometown, São Paulo.
Before joining Principal, Ernesto led UBS Wealth Management’s Ultra High Net Worth team in Brazil. Prior to that, he worked at Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management, serving clients across Latin America. He was also a partner at Claritas Investimentos, a pioneering independent asset manager in Brazil.
Beyond finance, Ernesto is a passionate amateur athlete. He represented Brazil in the 2023 World Multisport Championship, competing in the Sprint Duathlon (55-59 age group). Ernesto has completed four major marathons and participated in multiple Ironman 70.3 races. Swimming, biking, and running are integral parts of his life, and he looks forward to dedicating more time to them.
Ernesto is married to Mariana and has two daughters – a filmmaker and a psychology student. He holds an engineering degree from Unicamp and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
