Meeta Malhotra has had an extensive career in branding, both as a consultant and as an entrepreneur. For 15 years, she was one of two partners at Ray+Keshavan (R+K), India’s largest brand and design consultancy, which was acquired by American conglomerate, WPP. Meeta headed the strategic practice at R+K and helped to create industry-leading brands across technology, telecom, financial services and CPG.
She then went on to ‘scratch her product itch’ and co-founded a SaaS platform for enterprise communication called Kinetic Glue. This was acquired by Fortune 500 technology company, BMC Software.
As an active angel investor, Meeta works with several startups on their brand narratives and go-to-market strategy. In addition to investing and consulting, she currently runs a site called The Hard Copy, a resource for entrepreneurs building brands in India. Meeta advises Sarojini Damodaran Foundation, a social impact organization, on their communication strategy. She mentors women founders at a female-focused incubator, and is part of the Management Committee at Plaksha University.
She also volunteers with an animal advocacy group, which feeds and fosters homeless dogs. A student of Vipassana, an ancient Buddhist meditation practice, Meeta goes on a silent retreat every year, where no form of communication is allowed.
Meeta grew up in Delhi, where she obtained a BA in Economics from Lady Shriram College. She lives in Bangalore with her husband Sanjeev, a fellow entrepreneur, and their dog Emma. They have two sons, who attended UC Berkeley and Wesleyan.
