Lisa Schatz worked in the retail field for over 20 years and then began to focus her energies on philanthropic endeavors in Silicon Valley.
During her retail career she worked at Foleys, The Broadway and Bullocks and then moved to San Francisco to become the President of Esprit de Corps Retail Division for nine years. She was a Senior VP at The Gap for the five years prior to her retirement.
Lisa served on the boards of Menlo-Atherton High School and the Menlo Park Education Foundation. She also raised money and chaired events for many organizations including Duke University, Theaterworks, NARAL, Stern Grove and Menlo School. In 2009 Lisa started a Marketing and Philanthropic Consulting business for Investment Banks and worked for Credit Suisee and Baird.
In 2009 she cofounded an organization called “Under One Umbrella” to create and support a standalone women’s cancer center at Stanford. The Stanford Women’s Cancer Center was opened in 2010 and has become one of the premier cancer centers in the US. “Under One Umbrella” has raised over $68M to date to fund research, clinical trials and faculty recruitment. Lisa joined the Stanford Cancer Institute Cancer Council in 2010 and has been the Chair of the council since 2019. She continues to oversee the fundraising for Stanford Women’s Cancer Center as “Chair Emeritus” for the “Under One Umbrella” board.
Lisa graduated from the University of Texas with a Degree in Business Administration. She spends her time between Atherton and Carmel and loves to hike and golf.
