Leigh Sherwood Matthes is a New York native, with a 15-year history in marketing and advertising spanning both the East and West Coast. Her BA in Business and family principles were foundational for much of her career in New York and Los Angeles. Thriving on the integration of creativity with business, Leigh expanded her professional horizons to include private real estate development and engaged philanthropy.
Her philanthropic passion drives her to shape education and prioritize health. Leigh is currently an advisory board member for Stanford University’s School of Education Challenge Success program and Every Mother Counts— a global outreach maternal health organization. She has previously held trustee/advisory board positions at the UCSF Foundation, Stanford University’s Haas School of Public Service, the Katherine Del Mar Burkes School, and the Bay Area Discovery Museum to name a few. Leigh believes in the spirit of community, both locally and globally. She embodies this in her real estate endeavors by engaging with global artisans, utilizing their craftsmanship, and discovering the value in many other cultural traditions. This, combined with her philanthropic passions, have led to developing service trips for groups and her family to Indonesia, Latin America and Africa.
In her personal time, Leigh studies wellness in all forms, including movement, medicine, and nutrition. She is a lifetime advocate for integrative health connecting physical and mental health.
