Jaime Araoz is an independent board member at Qroma (the leading coatings industry in Peru and Chile) and Urbanova (the leader in prime office space and luxury hotels in Peru). Recently he ended his executive career to pursue his dream of becoming an entrepreneur after 21 years at Breca a family-owned investment conglomerate based in Peru with investments across several industries and geographies including banking, insurance, healthcare, mining, fishing, real estate, hotels, cement, and financial investments. He served 14 years as the Group’s CEO and as a board member in all of Breca companies.
Previously Jaime worked at Enron Corp in Houston, at Investa (investment banking boutique) in Lima, and in his family’s businesses. He has extensive cross industry experience in transformation, corporate governance, portfolio and industry strategy, value creation, M&A, risk management, talent, and innovation.
Additionally, Jaime serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including EsHoy, an association promoting the development of Peru, and Instituto Peruano de Economia (IPE), the leading liberal economic think tank in Peru. He has also served in the Advisory Board of MIT Institute for Data Science and Society (IDSS) and in the YPO Lima Chapter board.
Jaime has a bachelors business degree from Universidad de Lima and an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He and his wife, Carla have two children and strive to live a purpose driven life. Jaime loves traveling, sailing, skiing, and diving.
