George Colis has had a long career in the financial services industry. He was Chairman of the Board of Oxford Bank & Trust in Oak Brook, IL for 34 years having purchased the bank in 1987 and finally selling it in 2021. The bank enjoyed substantial growth and operated as both a commercial and retail lender with branches located in the western suburbs of Chicago.
George was the Co-Founder of SurePayroll, Inc., which became the nation’s leading provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) online payroll processing solutions for small businesses. This company was sold to Paychex, Inc. in 2011. George is also a Director of Euclid Insurance Services, Inc., a family-owned firm which operates as a manager and underwriter of specialty insurance programs with offices in North America, Europe and Asia.
George received his BA from Northwestern University and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern. Early in his career, he was an investment banker with Merrill Lynch in Chicago.
George and his wife, Minou, were married in 1981. Minou is a physician and board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology. They have two adult children. Their son is a Stanford GSB graduate.
George is a member of the Young Presidents Organization and the Chief Executives Organization. His civic activities include being a trustee of the Chicago Symphony and a supporter of Habitats for Humanity and Opportunity International.
