Rodrigo Xavier was Brazil Chief Executive Officer of Bank of America Merrill Lynch until April of 2017.

Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Xavier was a founding partner of Vinci Partners where he was responsible for all the commercial areas of the firm. Previously, Xavier was CEO of UBS Pactual and co-head of UBS Global Asset Management for Latin America. He joined Banco Pactual in 1993 where he held a number of positions of increasing responsibility such as co-head of asset management and head of Equity Sales and Trading. He became a partner of Pactual in 1997 and a member of its Executive Committee in 2003.

Xavier has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidade de Brasilia (UnB), post-graduate studies in International Economics from Tohoku and Fukushima Universities in Japan and a master’s degree in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird), USA.
