Jeannine English, CPA, MBA recently completed her term as AARP President and on the AARP Board of Directors, during which time she was a major spokesperson for the association, testifying before Congress and promoting policy changes throughout the country. She chaired the AARP National Policy Council, and served on both the compensation and governance committees.
Prior to her work at AARP, she was the founding partner of a major legislative advocacy firm in California and the executive director of the Commission on State Government Organization and Economy (the Little Hoover Commission). From 2006-2012, she served as a public member of the Board of Governors (Trustees) of the State Bar of California.
Jeannine served as the President of the Initiative Campaign Committee for the successful California Redistricting Commission and was a leader in the California Open Primary Initiative.
She currently serves on the Boards of Zen Hospice Project and Pride Industries Foundation. She is a member of the University of Southern California Board of Councilors for the Davis School of Gerontology. In her free time she is an avid cyclist and traveler. Recently she traveled to Antarctica and South Georgia Island to follow Sir Ernest Shackelton’s incredible journey.
