Katherine August-deWilde is Vice Chair of First Republic Bank (FRC), and an independent corporate board member of publicly and privately held companies. In 1985 she joined First Republic, at its founding and co-led the bank for the next 30 years, serving as its president from 2007 to 2015 and growing enterprise value in excess of 25 percent per year. FRC is a bi-coastal private bank, business bank and wealth management firm which has won accolades for exemplary client-focused service and culture.
Prior to joining First Republic, she was CFO at the PMI Group and a consultant for McKinsey & Company in San Francisco and London.
Since assuming her role as Vice Chair of First Republic in 2016, she has focused on her board portfolio, which includes TriNet Group, Inc., Sunrun, Equilar Inc., and Eventbrite. She is a member of the Advisory Councils of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and the Stanford Center on Longevity; the Catalyst Corporate Board Resource; and the Committee of 200. Katherine also invests in real estate and is an angel investor and advisor to venture backed companies.
Katherine earned a BA degree from Goucher College in history and an MBA from Stanford University.
Katherine and her husband David have four children (3 Stanford graduates) and live in San Francisco.
