Thania Panopoulos enjoys leading teams and companies through significant change and growth. She led operations and acquisition integration in the U.S. and Australia for GE Capital; she oversaw the global expansion of the online retail lending platform with HSBC; and she has invested in and advised early-stage companies. Thania has developed a blend of leadership skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and operational expertise, resulting in a uniquely integrated approach to catalyzing complex change within organizations. Most recently she leveraged her experience by founding a consultancy that works with CEOs and executive teams in guiding companies through significant transformations.
A strong advocate and builder of social enterprises that create positive global impact, Thania is a founding director of One Million Degrees, a non-profit that accelerates community college students on pathways to economic mobility; a co-founder of Social Venture Partners Chicago, a venture philanthropy fund; founder of Friends of Hogar Rafael Ayau, a non-profit that supports a home for abandoned children in Guatemala; and a former advisor to Impact Engine, the first Chicago-based accelerator and impact fund for social entrepreneurs.
Thania received her MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and her BA from Boston College. In addition to her passion for creative pursuits such as painting, cooking, and exploring, Thania enjoys hiking, travel, outdoor and family adventures.
