Financial Services Executive, Strategic Advisor

Jim Rowe is an experienced financial services executive with wide-ranging leadership roles in banking, insurance and early-stage fintech. As the former Executive Vice President and head of Stakeholder Relations at Wells Fargo, Jim was responsible for Investor Relations; Government Relations; Corporate Communications; Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility and Community Relations/Corporate Philanthropy. During this time he was also responsible for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) engagement with the investment community and other stakeholders.
He was a member of Wells Fargo’s Management Committee and Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion Council. He also launched the inaugural D&I council to support the Stakeholder Relations organization. Jim was active in mentoring emerging leaders, internally within Wells Fargo and externally through a national non-profit supporting veterans transitioning to the civilian workforce.
Previous work experience included being CEO of a leading online financial services marketplace and senior banking positions in the international trade finance and Fortune 500 corporate sectors. He also served as a strategic advisor to venture-backed firms in the data privacy, business e-payments and media industries.
Jim has a BS degree from Boston University Questrom School of Business (magna cum laude) and MBA from New York University Stern School of Business.
Jim and his wife Tamara are longtime Bay Area residents and have two grown children. Active in the local community, Jim was a member of the City of Menlo Park’s Bicycle Commission and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Menlo Park Library Foundation, which raises funds to support children and family library services and larger capital projects, such the new library and multi-generational community center in the city’s Belle Haven neighborhood.
