Emilio Umeoka is a global executive with a track record of distinguished leadership in the technology industry. He was VP of Enterprise Sales and US Education Sales at Apple. Emilio, a vibrant diversity and inclusion advocate, served in Microsoft’s leadership positions leading multicultural teams as VP APAC in Singapore and President of Microsoft Brazil. His agile career spans from start-ups to leading significant divisions in large companies with broad P&L responsibilities. Emilio held global and regional executive roles at Splunk, Juniper Networks, and Compaq. His inclusive approach to leadership has been key to his high-performance teams’ successes.
He has demonstrated a strong commitment to social responsibility by improving the use of technology in education, increasing digital inclusion, and fostering local developer and start-up ecosystems.
Emilio is a member of the Ascend CEI (Corporate Executive Initiative). This advisory board drives initiatives that enhance current and future Pan-Asian leaders’ influence. He was also the executive sponsor for the Apple Asian Association. He is a member of the YPO (Young President’s Organization) NorCal Chapter.
Emilio grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and attended Texas A&M, where he graduated with a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering. He is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
He resides in the Bay Area with his wife and has two grown daughters and a son-in-law who work and live in New York City. Emilio and his wife enjoy travel, photography, and exploring outstanding cuisine and local dining experiences.
