Ann Dehner brings a 40-year career in public service through her work with nonprofit organizations in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
Her experience spans a wide range of nonprofits, including public schools and universities, diverse arts and educational organizations, community development and other public charities serving both small, rural communities and those having regional/national impact. Her work also includes independent consulting for local and state governments and private companies working in collaboration with the social sector.
Ann brings strategic and visionary leadership and a passion for empowering nonprofits. She’s raised millions for numerous organizations through annual, capital and specialty campaigns. She was a co-developer of the first public alternative school in Alaska and the first public charter school in Idaho. Ann contributed to the organizational advancement of the University of Alaska’s Public Broadcasting System, Pacific Crest Outward Bound, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Log Cabin Literary Center, and Idaho Fish & Wildlife Foundation, among others.
Over the years, Ann has worked with numerous nonprofit boards, developing best practices for board service and new policies for effective governance. Her consulting work also includes resource development for Oregon State University’s College of Education, Alaska Humanities Forum, and strategic planning and conceptual development for Idaho Commission on the Arts, GrantStation.com and the Idaho Nonprofit Center.
Ann is a graduate of Indiana University with a BS in Business Administration and MS in Secondary Education. She enjoys time with her two adult children and extended family, a good laugh, being in nature, and creative pursuits.
