Deborah (Debbie) Byron is a seasoned global executive and board leader with deep experience leading change in corporate businesses, professional services, and educational institutions. Debbie most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Risk Management Solutions (RMS), the world leader in catastrophe risk modeling solutions for the global insurance industry. Throughout her career, Debbie has been an indispensable CEO advisor to renowned Silicon Valley chiefs.
Prior to joining RMS, Debbie was SVP of Worldwide Human Resources for Business Objects, a French/US software company, through its acquisition by SAP in early 2008. Earlier, Debbie was the COO for Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, an international technology law firm. Debbie has also held executive leadership positions for the California State Automobile Association, and Tandem Computers, and has been a startup founder, as well as principal of her own organizational consulting practice.
Today, at Stanford University, Debbie chairs the Board Match Services for Stanford Women on Boards, founded and chairs the DCI Alumni Network, and serves on the Advisory Council for the Clayman Institute for Gender Research. Debbie also serves as an emeritus trustee of Harvey Mudd College, a premier engineering, science and technology institution. She is former chair for the Career Action Center in Silicon Valley and served as a publicly elected board member and president of the top-ranked Cupertino Union School District.
Debbie graduated from Stanford University and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She and her husband Jeff have two grown children and make their home in Los Altos and Carmel, California.
