Consultant, The Parent Practice
Susan Kumleben works in the rapidly developing field of Parent Coaching – effectively ‘management consulting’ for parents. Thirteen years ago Sue joined The Parent Practice, a London-based consultancy dedicated to providing parents with research-based skills enabling them to make their families happier, calmer and more successful. Clients include schools (throughout London and in the U.S.), corporations, professional organizations such as the Young Presidents’ Organization, and private individuals. Several clients Sue helped train are now offering Parent Coaching in Sweden, Spain, New Zealand and the U.S. Sue serves as a Governor of Glendower Preparatory School for Girls and is active in a variety of other charities.
Sue began her career as a lawyer with a Wall Street law firm, then as Associate General Counsel for Remy Martin (America). Graduating from Williams College with a BA in History, Sue also holds a JD from The University of Virginia Law School and a BSc in Voluntary Sector Organization from the London School of Economics. Sue and her husband Paul moved to the UK in 1992 where they raised three children with delightful British accents. For her 50th birthday she decided to run the London Marathon. Enjoying the challenge, she now competes in triathlons where she has represented Great Britain at the Sprint Distance (placing 12th in the world) and the Olympic Distance (placing 2nd in Europe). This summer Sue plans to complete her first half Ironman.
