Tracey Weisler is a Senior Advisor in the International Bureau of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and served as Chair of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) Working Party on Communications, Infrastructure and Services Policy from 2014 to 2018.
Tracey joined the Commission in 1995. During her tenure at the agency, she has worked on a variety of international digital economy policy issues, focusing primarily on European-U.S. telecommunications, wireless, Internet and mobile satellite matters. In addition, she was a senior member of the FCC’s “Connecting the Globe” initiative, created in 1999 to assist regulatory officials in developing economies throughout Africa, Asia, and Latin America with a range of legal and technical telecommunications policy issues. In 2002, Tracey was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to France where she taught at the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST) in Paris, consulted with ARCEP, the telecommunications regulator, and researched the evolution of Internet-based services in the US and France.
Prior to joining the FCC, Tracey worked in Washington as the Director of Legislative Affairs at the National Telecommunications Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and then as Legislative Assistant to Congressman Mike Synar (D-OK) in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is a graduate of Cornell University, and later attended the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, receiving a Master’s degree in Public Policy (M.P.P.). A devoted francophile, Tracey attended Middlebury College as a Davis Fellow in its French Immersion Language Program during the summer of 2017.
