An AI and Digital Media executive, Tami Zhu has an outstanding global track record across Asia, Europe, and the United States. Tami was featured in Forbes, TechCrunch, and Travel Channel China. She was selected as one of the most influential women in the Bay Area in 2017 by San Francisco Business Times and in 2018 by Silicon Valley Business Journal.
Tami was the US CEO of two startups in China. Under her leadership, the companies raised over $150M during series A and B funding, leading the China voice market with the company’s award-winning products. Prior to that, Tami was a vice president at IPG Mediabrands and head of AOL Ventures, where she was ranked the top female Asian executive in the company. Before that, she led the launch of Excite@Home’s international joint ventures in the Netherlands, Australia, and Japan.
Tami holds an MBA from MIT. Prior to MIT, she was a software engineer on the Borland C++ compiler team upon earning her MS in Computer Science from University of California, San Diego. In addition to her advanced degrees, Tami holds a BS in Information Sciences from Peking University with an emphasis in computational linguistics and Chinese natural language processing.
