President and Partner, Fraenkel Gallery
San Francisco, CA

When she’s not preheating the oven to 350˚F, Frish Brandt is serving as the President and Partner of the Fraenkel Gallery where she has worked for over 35 years. In that time, she has built the gallery’s legacy worldwide while overseeing operations, client and artist relationships and the gallery’s artistic direction. Frish’s vision is as much a part of the artists the gallery shows, as the relationships which are central to the gallery’s history and future.

Beginning in 2014, Frish developed a practice of letter writing for others, which she does as a volunteer through various hospice-related organizations. As a “letter midwife” she helps others nearing the end of their lives to express themselves. She is associated with Hospice by the Bay, Stanford Hospital, Vitas, Commonweal and other organizations.

When not in the gallery or writing letters, she can be found in the kitchen baking for friends; in Paris enjoying the museums and a glass of Chablis; in New York visiting artists, galleries and delis; in San Francisco seeking magic and spending time with her son, for whom adjectives fall short.

Frish serves as Board President of SF Art & Film for Teens, an organization dedicated to providing cultural programs for Bay Area teens. She sits on the Director’s Circle Committee of SFMOMA and the Arts Committee of The Exploratorium; she also serves as a Board Member of Sages & Seekers. She is a graduate of California College of Arts and Crafts.
