Tami Zhu is an AI and Digital Media executive with a global track record across Asia, Europe, and the United States. Tami has been featured in Forbes, TechCrunch, MIT Technology Review, and the Travel Channel China. In 2022, she had the honor of being the commencement speaker for the Center for East Asia Studies and Department for East Asian Languages and Cultures at Stanford University. Her latest interest is the convergence of AI and digital health.
Tami was selected as one of the most influential women in the Bay Area in 2017 by San Francisco Business Times and in 2018 by Silicon Valley Business Journal. She has been the CEO of the US subsidiaries of two companies from China. Under her leadership, the companies raised over $150M in funding and led their markets with award-winning products. Prior to that, Tami was a vice president at IPG Mediabrands and head of AOL Ventures, where she was the highest ranking female Asian executive at both companies. Before that, she led the launch of Excite@Home’s international joint ventures in the Netherlands, Australia, and Japan.
She holds an MBA from MIT. Prior to business school, she was a software engineer on the Borland C++ compiler team upon earning her MS in Computer Science from University of California, San Diego. Tami also holds a BS in Information Sciences from Peking University with an emphasis in computational linguistics and Chinese natural language processing.
