Bonnie Zavon

Bonnie Zavon joined the Distinguished Careers Institute in August 2018. With a background in marketing and meeting planning, she helps the DCI program team with events and plays a major role in DCI’s outreach initiatives. Under a grant from the Hewlett Foundation, she initiates, organizes and runs meetings and events with leaders from colleges and universities around the world to broaden the discussion on the role of higher education to improve the lives of individuals in midlife and beyond. Bonnie serves as Project Manager for The Nexel Collaborative, a fiscally sponsored non-profit organization launched in 2020 for this same purpose.

An independent meetings and event planner [BEventz], Bonnie earned her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2017. From 1999 to 2016, she handled marketing communications, public relations, and meeting planning for HighWire Press, an innovative online technology department of the Stanford University Libraries, serving the scholarly research community.

Bonnie holds a Bachelour of Fine Arts degree in Film and Video Production from York University in Toronto, Canada.
