Melanie Karsen brings with her a deep passion for and connection to art, and a sincere desire to contribute to community. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Melanie holds a BS in Art from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. Early in her career, she worked as a graphic artist and later formed her own decorative consulting business, catering to residential and retail clientele. Most recently, Melanie served as an officer on the Board of the Directors for the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, in West Sonoma County, California. She loves painting in her studio, gardening, music, cooking, reading, watching films and cherishes time with her DCI Fellow husband, Perry, as well as their two children (now grown). Melanie greatly looks forward to experiencing DCI.
