Kenneth A. (Kenny) August retired in 2009 from his role as the U.S. leader of Deloitte’s U.S. Media and Entertainment practice and a Vice Chairman of Deloitte LLP. In this capacity, Kenny led a multidisciplinary team of over 1000 industry practitioners and oversaw a portfolio of nearly 500 clients in every segment within the media and entertainment industry.

Kenny joined Touche Ross as a management consultant in 1975. When he left the firm to practice law in 1992 he was a National Practice Director and a member of the Management Committee of the U.S. Consulting Practice. After seven years as a partner at the entertainment transactional firm Ziffren Brittenham, he rejoined Deloitte in 1999 to grow its entertainment practice.

His clients have included major and independent studios, game developers and publishers, satellite platforms, and leading technology companies. He also serves on private corporate boards, and has served for his entire career on local and national not-for-profit boards and committees.

Kenny attended Stanford as a National Merit Scholar and received his law degree from Columbia where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. After graduating from Stanford in 1968, he spent a year in Washington working for the AFL-CIO and on the Hill. He met his wife Patricia while running a California congressional campaign in 1970. Kenny and Patricia have two married daughters and four grandchildren.

Kenny’s hobbies include golf, food, wine and fly fishing (Jackson Hole and New Zealand One-Fly winning teams; U.S team, World Fly Fishing Championship)
