Climate Philanthropist and Impact Investor

As an advisor, philanthropist, and investor, Katie Vogelheim is engaged in climate change working to foster a sustainable future. Through her family foundation created in 2004, Katie invests in global conservation efforts, and mentors project leaders to bring these solutions to scale. She is Chair of the Conservation International Leadership Council, one of the world’s largest sustainability NGOs, and a member of its Board of Directors, and serves on the Harvard School of Public Health Board of Dean’s Advisors.
To execute this mission, Katie applies skills and business experience honed over three decades. At GE Information Services, a global telecommunications provider, she managed operations in South America, Canada, and the U.S. She also held executive positions in other industries including Senior VP of Artists and Recordings for a division of Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), Chief Marketing Officer of a technology startup, and Principal of her own consulting firm. In addition to working on climate change, Katie indulged her life-long love of Italy co-creating a collection of boutique hotels in the heart of Rome.
Katie has served on the Harvard Business School Board of Dean’s Advisors, and the Loyola University Rome Center Advisory Council. She holds a BS degree in Physical Geography from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MBA from Golden Gate University.
She and her husband, John Hansen, live in Tiburon, California and have two adult children. Katie is an ardent wildlife photographer, tennis player and skier.
