Bernd Ondruch has over 25 years of experience in European capital markets. He is the Managing Partner and CIO of Astellon Capital Partners, a European-focused investment firm which he launched in 2011. It became one of the most successful launches in Europe post GFC. During Q1 2019, Astellon returned all external capital and became a single-family office. Prior to founding Astellon, Bernd was Managing Director at Amber Capital in London, a New York-based event- driven hedge fund where he had responsibility for investment research in Germany, Austria, Switzerland on a country basis and for European financials on an industry basis. Bernd was also a member of the Global Investment Committee at Amber. Prior to his investment career, Bernd was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley (London) where he was Co-Head of its FIG Investment Banking practice for Germany, Austria and CEE. Between 1997 and 1999 Bernd worked in the Investment Banking Division of JP Morgan (London) covering German industrials and financial services. He started his career in 1994 at J. Henry Schroder & Co. covering German-speaking markets. Bernd graduated with distinction from Georg-August University of Goettingen with a Masters (Dipl.-Kfm) degree in business and economics.

Bernd is a fitness enthusiast and has participated in Ironman competitions and amateur cycling sportives. He is interested in refurbishing an Airstream and enjoys a variety of podcasts and videography.

Bernd is married to Viktoria and is the proud father of six children.
