Melissa Froland grew up in the midwest, lived in the bay area for a decade after college, and has spent the last 22 years in the Northeast. She worked in a variety of capacities in investment management & consulting, servicing corporations, non-profits, universities and individuals, including the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Callan Associates, Stanford University and Kaspick & Co.

In 1995, Melissa relocated to New York and Connecticut, where she sat on several boards, volunteered in schools and with various community organizations. Her community involvements initially related to her young family, eventually evolving into various roles in the broader community. Melissa worked with The Playground Project, St. Luke’s School, Girl Scouts of America, Meals on Wheels, Open Door Shelter, and the Congregational Church of New Canaan.

Melissa holds a BS from Northern Illinois University in Finance and Economics. While living in New York, she took courses in Decorative Arts at Sotheby’s, attending regional decorative arts symposiums around the country. Melissa loves yoga, gardening, biking, hiking, renovating old houses, and traveling with family and friends. Melissa met her husband, Charles Froland, while working on Stanford’s Endowment in the ‘80s. They have two children (boy/girl twins) both undergraduate candidates at Stanford.
