Deutschman

Kris Deutschman is a public affairs strategist with 20 years of experience helping public agencies, businesses, non-profit organizations, Native American tribes, trade associations and political candidates achieve their policy goals in California. Kris provides strategic counsel to business leaders on corporate positioning, designs public education initiatives and directs local and statewide public affairs campaigns — architecting programs that change the way political leaders, media and the general public perceive her client’s priority issues.

Prior to founding Deutschman Communications Group, Inc. in 2004, Kris was a partner in one of California’s leading political consulting firms, Townsend Raimundo Besler & Usher. For the past 10 years, she has been a public affairs advisor to Fortune 100 companies and internet start-ups; helped advance legislative and regulatory policies for California’s biotech industry, physician groups and hospitals; and served as a key communications leader in the effort to pass the nation’s first bond measure to fund a high-speed train system.

Throughout her career, Kris has committed herself to giving back to the communities where she lives, serving as a pro bono advisor to community organizations, as president of the Sacramento YWCA, and as a board member of the Sacramento Metro Chamber responsible for initiating its young leaders program.

Kris is a graduate of California State University, Fresno and recently participated in Stanford Graduate School’s Executive Program for Women Leaders. She and her husband Scott Doniger, Corporate Marketing Strategist at the social media software company Sprinklr, have two Siberian Huskies who keep them very active.
